Pros

My team is awesome. Great bunch of guys and a few nice girls. The flexibility is good, I can often work from home without a hassle from my manager. Probably one of the better options for tech companies if you are in Cleveland area.

Cons

Work in legacy code that is poorly designed and a constant headache. Benefits are barely acceptable, especially if you are supporting a family. Getting promoted requires good office politics and a decent amount of luck. The company has no clear vision, we are constantly re-organizing and re-structuring R&D and it makes no difference, there is still a giant backlog of bugs because of a poorly designed system. They are moving toward offering cloud solutions and making the same design mistakes in their new systems. Be prepared to not write any code for weeks at a time while you debug and test issues due to a lack of automated tests and an abundance of software defects.

Pros

Hyland does it's best to keep employees working hard by giving them benefits. They offer on campus dining, hair cuts, car washes, and work out facilities.

Cons

Many employees (current and past) complain about the wages, and I agree with them.

Pros

Great benefits. Flexible work hours, tolerant of family situations. Lots of wonderful "community spirit" activities. Excellent diner. Also on site barber, stylist and massages. There is an on site daycare for employees, although the cost is $800 a month.

Cons

The Zubarettas. They tend to talk down to people and generally make up plans as they go along, often screwing up other peoples' smoothly running plans. Low salaries. Daycare is quite expensive especially in light of the average salary. It's an ok job for Cleveland, where the economy is in a death spiral, but compared to companies in the rest of the country, it's nothing special. Senior management are mostly long-time friends and therefore anyone below that level really has no voice.
