Pros

Intense timelines, industry shattering product performance, genuine people who want to change an industry and solve hard problems. If you want to do good work and see real results, work here. If you want to hide behind a desk and do as little as possible, don't work here.

Cons

It's a high-velocity place. If you're looking for a challenge, you'll find it here. That's only a bad thing for folks who shouldn't have applied to the company in the first place. Not everyone fits at ICON but those that fit, thrive.

Pros

Pay is decent (for now)

Cons

This company bit off more than they can chew. What their technology lacks, the operators in the field are expected to compensate for. There have been about 4 major layoffs in the past 2 years alone. Schedules can change on a days notice. Shifts can last 15 or more hours which gives the workers no time to have adequate rest. Management seems to be tone deaf during periods when the majority is unhappy with conditions. They literally played a Top Gun movie trailer during a meeting in which they announce they are laying off half of the operations department. The ones that get to stay must compete for the same or less pay with even more responsibility. Have no doubt, this company is struggling and you should be wary when considering working here.

Pros

Great mission, cool technology, smart and collaborative colleagues

Cons

Constant change and right-sizing of staff creates a feeling of instability and affects morale. Very high expectations for average pay at non-senior levels; leadership wants everyone to buy in to the mission and feel ownership but the stock options and salaries don't match. Leadership thinks the cachet of working here is part of the compensation and need to stop drinking their own kool-aid.
