It's a profitable company with a decentralized business model. If you can be ok with not working in a high performance team then this is a company you will want to work with and retire

Poor leadership, prioritizes friendliness over business. Afraid of taking action and making changes. Deals with poor performers by promoting them to a safe place and leaving the rest of the team to carry the extra load of those decisions on a daily basis.

The company is relatively stable. Benefits are pretty good.

Cons

Little or no team-building. Lacks innovation. Poor leadership and heavy middle management. Professional development is left as your own responsibility. Very little diversity. No "community" feel. Executives make decisions and attempt to implement processes that make daily life more time-consuming. Extremely under-staffed at the base level. Talent is not retained. Company values are understated, if stated at all.

People in the business units are great.

Cons

CEO has let the 3 senior leaders of the operations go and added an army of strategy people and DEI people instead. New leadership hires have left quickly and CFO just left to go somewhere else. What is going on at this company?

We agree wholeheartedly that the people in our business units are great. We are making investments close to our businesses to advance our strategy. That focus continues to inform the market opportunities and innovative solutions we are pursuing. And yes, our CFO did indeed leave for a new opportunity after almost 12 years with the company. While we will miss him, he leaves behind the outstanding finance team and processes he helped build. We are confident of the direction in which IDEX is headed – with growth and operational excellence built on a foundation of an outstanding company culture. We see exciting times ahead.
