Pros

The fast paced environment at IPG gets you used to working in the industry quickly. The engineering team is also a great group of people who often collaborate on projects. With a large focus on constant improvement on hardware, software and yield, it's easy to be engaged with projects.

Cons

The number of hours required is more than I would've liked. We are often required to work mandatory Saturdays when production falls behind.

Good company to start your career

Good benefits. 3 weeks of payed vacation, PTO,12 payed Holidays, good health insurance, dental and vision plan. A lot of overtime for hourly employees.

Cons

Project management, communication between departments, planning - all this not about IPG Photonics. Some departments have production meetings for engineers, group leaders and supervisors at 4PM on Fridays.
