Pros

Solid people around me. Technology was kept up to date for employees.

Cons

Resources on the whole were ridiculously bad. The size of the company can make simple jobs much more difficult. If you have a boss who liked to cut corners (such as mine), it can make your job quite stressful.

Pros

If it doesn't drive you nuts, you could work there forever.

Cons

Everybody hates you and loves to tell you about it. You'd expect that working for the IRS. However, most employees have a thick skin for that part. The problem is that internally, it's a very old-line bureaucracy where people are promoted by seniority and who's rear end they kissed, and everyone down the line better just shut up and do their job no matter how messed up things are. Management can be trusted to talk a good game, but invariably do absolutely nothing. Employee issues are, at best, ignored or avoided, and at worst can have you ostracized to a window in the corner facing a brick wall.
