IST is a third-party mailroom services provider that will sign a temporary contract with a business employing a large number of people (ie hospital, university, law firm) to occupy the business's space and provide mainly mail and copy services although light maintenance and catering can also be included. I want to paint that picture for any potential employees that are interested in applying. Our location was in the basement, no windows, no real place to sit and call your own, geographically discriminated like trolls under a bridge. But the high and mighty will need your help! Moving boxes of paper or mountains of folding chairs or carrying piles of food. I could list plenty of instances of disrespect or cowardice but, to be honest, what more needs to be said other than they ran this location into the ground. Mismanagement, lack of communication, and poor behavior led to the contract not being renewed and the primary business signing up with a lead competitor to IST. Corporate tried to threaten us with non-compete clauses and NDAs (none of which they could fabricate or show any proof we as employees signed) yet they continued to drive the ship straight into the iceberg. Sad excuse for a company, The CEO had some odd habits. He would post on FB lavish wastes of money in between denying his employees short-term disability and when word came down that our location was closing, he wanted to video call into the office to watch our reactions. What type of personality wants to watch the look of disappointment on the faces of their own employees when their fired en masse? The work culture, while diverse in ethnicity or background, was not diverse in intelligence. Daily conversations consisted of reality TV show drama or intimate details of workers bedroom life at the uncomfortable volume of ~90db (the same level as heavy traffic on the highway). I could go on and on but in the end it matters very little considering the SITE DOES NOT EXIST ANY LONGER.
