Pros

Imagine Learning at its core has always strived to produce really high-quality programs with the child in mind--first and foremost. In my 10+ years with the company, my perception was that the vast majority of employees bought into the mission of changing lives and opening doors of opportunities for children, and that showed in the quality of their work and their respectful relationships with coworkers and customers. They have been lucky to have had visionary founders that set a high bar for what success looks like and that built a foundation for a really great company culture. As is the case in any company, Imagine Learning has experienced growing pains and organizational changes over time, but they always seem to come out on top. I attribute that to the great team of people that are there because they believe in the mission and values of the company. If you're looking for a job where you can go to work every day and rub shoulders with awesome, super talented coworkers, knowing you are making a difference in the world, Imagine Learning is a great place to be. Not to say it is without its challenges. But chances are, it's going to be one of the best jobs of your career.

Cons

Generally very good benefits, but 401K was a little lacking. Could do better with career growth opportunities.

Thank you for your review. It means a lot to us, especially as an employee that worked for Imagine Learning for over ten years. We’re pleased that you had such a positive experience working with other talented employees and making a difference in student learning. You’re correct when you mention that we’ve had “growing pains,” and as we grow and adapt, we hope to continue to fulfill our mission of helping teachers and students while also providing meaningful, challenging opportunities for innovative, insightful employees like yourself. Thank you for your contributions to Imagine Learning over the years. We wish you the best as you move on to new opportunities.

Pros

Great people: competent and kind. Great mission: products and services move the needle for teachers and students. Exciting time for the business: things are moving both in terms of product development and acquisitions. Company holiday between Christmas and New Years is great. Senior leadership is strong and transparent.

Cons

No real cons. Rapid pace can cause strategic shifts to feel abrupt. There is certainly a palpable sense of urgency, but I think that is positive.

We’re so happy that you had such a positive experience during your time at Imagine Learning. It is incredibly important to us that our employees feel fulfilled and supported in their work. You’re accurate in identifying that things at Imagine Learning are moving and changing at a rapid pace, especially over the past couple of years. We are working hard to not just accomplish our goals of providing the best in educational technology programs for teachers and students as we go through these changes, but to also ensure our employees feel valued, challenged, and informed. Thank you for your contributions to Imagine Learning and good luck with your future endeavors!

Lack of direction & leadership

Pros

Best game like content for students

Cons

Current executive team is completely disconnected from the needs of the customer. Disappointed when Jonathan G. appointed the co-president model with two people that are not capable of relating with employees let alone customers. The company had great potential to be a leader in the industry but these two are running the company to the ground and Jonathan is blind to what's happening. No diversity in the executive team to understand and relate to both buyers and users. People who lack qualifications have been promoted to positions they should NOT be in. I have never seen HR support an employee when they have been mistreated. Doing what's right rather than what's easy has become a slogan.. the company is not performing according to the values they profess to have. Company won't hire enough professionals to complete any of the product line.

Thank you for you review. We understand the hesitation to jump onboard the “Co-President” bandwagon, but we honestly feel that Co-President brings complementary strengths and valuable perspectives to leading Imagine Learning to the next level as a leading EdTech provider for educators and schools. Our HR team works tirelessly to address concerns and issues as they arise, and I’m disappointed you feel they have not supported you or others you are aware of. Please reach out to our HR team to discuss these circumstances—they would want to hear your feedback. Although we can’t control for each individual action, we believe we have the best employees working for us—employees who want to do what is right to meet the needs of our customers while collaborating as individuals, teams, and departments. We’ve had a lot of change over the past couple of years, which can be difficult to navigate, but we feel incredibly positive about the direction these changes are taking us as a company and we’re glad to have you onboard as we move forward. Thank you again for the candid feedback.
