Leadership - lack of

Pros

There is a lot of potential here at Imagine Learning, products are good and getting better. Field teams are top notch.

Cons

Leadership. Jeremy Cowdrey and Bryan Sparks (co-presidents) lack skillset, effective decision making skills and overall corporate leadership. Through their inability to run a company effectively they are doing more harm than good. If things continue to stay on course, this company will lose any and all edge it has held in the market.

Thank you for your feedback. We agree that our programs are not only good but getting better all the time. And that our field teams are the best! We understand how it can be difficult to adjust to changes, especially in leadership, and that sometimes employees may not be able to see the full vision we’re working toward because as an Executive Team we are not always able to share sensitive information such as potential acquisitions, personnel changes, or product decisions being considered. We are, however, working together as Co-Presidents to lead Imagine Learning to the next level as a leading digital educational provider and to be as transparent as possible with our employees on how we’re accomplishing this. We know we have the right people in place company-wide to reach our goals. Again, thank you for your feedback. We take it seriously. And we’re so grateful to have you as a part of the Imagine Learning team to help us continue moving in the right direction.

Pros

Don't let the other reviews steer you wrong! Bryan and Jeremy, the new co-presidents as of May 2018, have made a lot of important changes. Many of these changes have been needed for a long time and will help ensure the success of the company. Lots of people don't like change or haven't caught the vision that Bryan and Jeremy have, so they've made negative reviews. In reality, the company is going in a very good direction!

Cons

While the changes were necessary, the company is still adjusting to a new normal. That's caused some confusion and headache, but it will clear in time. The company also needs to improve its production processes.

Thank you for your review. We’re thrilled that you can see value of the changes Imagine Learning has incorporated and understand the vision our Co-Presidents have as they work to move our company forward in a good direction. Change can be difficult, and we’ve had a lot of change over the past couple of years, but we’re excited about the future and the direction we’re headed as a company. Thank you for your contributions to Imagine Learning’s success. We’re happy to have you onboard as part of our team!

Lots of Changes, in the name of Innovation

Pros

- Work with some seriously cutting edge tech (still spreading across teams, but its getting there) - If you can deliver good code often, you are usually left to solve problems as you see fit - Trying to evangelize the tech community more through writing and open source - Benefits are reasonable (yes, they dropped the infinite sick time, but you got an extra week of PTO. This is what happens when employees abuse unlimited sick time, yeah it was bad) - Just bumped parental leave to 2 weeks, maternity leave was also increased but I dont remember what to

Cons

- We like to spend a lot of time navel-gazing about process and procedure - Interesting transition time as we move to the OKR model - Sometimes business urgencies aren't translated to employees effectively - We aren't super comfortable with shipping often and the minor churn that can happen with it
