Pros

This is one of the best companies, if not the best, I have ever worked for. I noticed another reviewer complaining about the loss of unlimited sick time but how many sick days does one really need? I’ve worked for companies before with unlimited sick time and ironically seemed to use half the days then compared to having a set number of days. Granted I work remotely so I might feel different if I were in an office. For me, I’m happy to now have extra vacation days if I don’t use all my sick days. I’ve also never worked for a company that gave everyone Christmas Eve to New Year’s off in addition to your vacation days. That’s a wonderful benefit! The people here are passionate about helping children and it’s a positive work environment. I’m sure it seems different if you began working here before it grew so much, but coming from other places both good and bad, I can truly say I love my job because the culture is so positive.

Cons

It’s a growing field of competitors and long sales cycle but we believe in what we’re doing and that drives us. The 401k match could be better- it’s 50% match up to 5%. I’m used to 100% match up to 6-7.5% but the positive environment goes a long way.

Passionate people making a real difference

Pros

It's clear everyone here is passionate not just about their jobs but about the kids our work ultimately impacts: - Executives care about employees and their families and know us by name, and employee feedback and questions are heard and respectfully responded to. - The CTO cares about staying on the leading edge of education technology in a market that is often several years behind. - New and innovative ideas are welcome and encouraged. - Management and benefits are accommodating to employees seeking a healthy work/life balance.

Cons

Having acquired two companies recently, we're still working through the growing pains of integrating and scaling cultures, products, processes, and best practices. We are still learning how to be more data-driven and less emotional (remember, we're passionate people) when working through problems. There is ample opportunity to grow and mature in our highly dynamic inter- and intra-team cultures. It can be frustrating at times, but I haven't yet encountered a software company that doesn't face similar problems. I'm encouraged by our continued efforts to try to listen, assess, and incrementally improve.

Successful Provo tech co. you haven't heard of

Pros

Great reason to come to work (giving kids a shot in life who might otherwise have a very hard time). Great co-workers in may areas. Great benefits. It is not the loud, braggadocios companies you see elsewhere in Utah County that are probably more flash than substance. Instead, we are the successful tech company in Provo that you probably haven't heard of.

Cons

Resources aren't unlimited (they never are), so we don't throw crazy parties, but at least I work at a financially responsible company that will not spend itself into bankruptcy.
