There is a lack of true culture at Impinj, even though they say we have it. The company strategy changes all the time, mostly chasing where the next pot of money is coming from. Employees do their jobs, go home and show up the next day. There is no sense of urgency, accountability, timelines, drive and everything that makes people want to invest their careers in this place.
The "executive team" will go weeks without any form of communication to employees and by nature only communicate amongst themselves. It's a top down environment to a T. There are company meetings every other Friday for 30 minutes, and while those are good, it's a bunch of jibber jabber around what we're doing, all of which ends up being forgotten about two weeks later. Impinj feels more like a government entity, where employees come in at 930am and leave at 4pm right on the nose. That behavior encourages employees to do the least possible and not take the extra initiative for anything.
Compensation wise, Impinj is extremely frugal. The equity portion over the last year is non-existent and even the employee purchase program is sparse at best. If you want a lower paying base salary without any equity, this is your place to be.
