Horrible Culture - Stay Away

Pros

Nice location in the Short North

Cons

From the moment you walk into the old, broke down building, you are oppressed by their old school marketing mentality and habits. The marketing director (of creative design, not field sales) is mainly negative and often condescending in nature. The end result is an atmosphere that feels like you are working in a hourly, no appreciation, no respect environment. Benefits are lackluster with a industry low of 10 days PTO, that you earn, but are stripped if you put in your 2 weeks notice. Bottom line, this is not a healthy environment for anyone. The consensus is that you are an object and replaceable. Meanwhile, I completed the work of an outside ad agency for pennies on the dollar.

As an organization that cares deeply about employee satisfaction, we thank you for your feedback. As a 26-year industry leader, we adhere to certain standards of excellence across all areas of our business. We've achieved being one of the top remodeling firms for over two decades through a culture centered on innovation, continuous improvement and a steadfast focus on performance, integrity and growth. We employ, retain and reward individuals with the same values. We are not a marketing or advertising agency. All of our marketing is done by our in-house professionals who manage multiple types of projects that include creative, production and implementation activities to support our growing organization and our ever-expanding retail store presence. All positions on our marketing team include design-related tasks, and there are no roles for purely creative design. Compensation is always at a rate agreeable to the employee. As far as PTO, in addition to employee accrued paid time off which includes regular increases with time worked, the Company also provides paid Holidays. Additionally, we offer a 401K retirement savings program, health and dental insurance, Aflac supplemental insurance, life & disability insurance and other popular perks, depending upon the position. We understand sometimes even after multiple interviews and initial impressions, there isn't a culture fit and that another organization, or perhaps an agency in this case, is likely a better choice for both parties. Again, thank you for sharing your feedback. We wish you every success in future career endeavors.

Pros

Everything is unicorns and rainbows with management and senior management. They have all drank the kooliad.

Cons

1099 contractor posistion, they pay zero tax putting employee at IRS risk. On call from 10am - 7pm. Zero car/mileage allowance, zero pay for mandatory meetings. They say 60 mile radius but thats not reality, really up to 85 miles. Sales is penalized for credit turndowns, customer no shows, and not having all homeowners present. These unpredictable factors all count against the sales rep! Unpredictable Lead counts lead to unpredictable pay for sales reps, it’s very spotty. To sum this position up, management over promises and under delivers. Lastly, the health benefits cost is so ridiculously over priced, your looking at $600 a month for 2 people.

Pros

They've been in business for over 25 years without ever advertising the company. Other than that, they wrongfully terminate employees, and micromanage those who are still there.

Cons

They've been in business for over 25 years without ever advertising the company. They pay nothing to their marketers, lie to their staff about how they recruit new employees, and are unwilling to spend a dime or change their processes for the better.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on Glassdoor. As a leader in our industry for almost 30 years, we take pride in the fact that we've won over 20 Consumers' Choice Awards and maintain an A+ Rating with the BBB because of our business practices. We've built the business by interacting with consumers in their home communities, something we believe they value (over 45,000 jobs sold helps us be confident in this). As you likely know, our name "Improveit" doesn't really have anything to do with the home "improvement" services we provide; instead it's related to our culture of continuous improvement. We utilize advancements in training, coaching, technology, management tactics, communications and much more on an ongoing basis to ensure we are all reaching our fullest potential. Again, we're thankful for your feedback. We're sorry that the position here didn't work out for you. We truly wish you every future success!
