Pros

The culture is very employee-focused — leadership genuinely trusts you to own your work and make decisions. There’s a lot of autonomy, and you’re encouraged to figure out creative solutions rather than follow a rigid playbook. The pace is fast, and no two days are the same. The work can be demanding, but if you enjoy tackling new challenges and adapting quickly, it’s incredibly energizing. It’s definitely not the right fit if you’re looking for something slow and predictable, but for driven people who want ownership, constant learning, and real impact, it’s a fantastic environment.

Cons

The company truly gives employees a lot of autonomy and responsibility, which can be very motivating if you’re independent and driven. The flat hierarchy means your voice is heard, and you have room to shape your role. That said, the same flexibility can be a slippery slope. Some people tend to take more freedom than they give back, which occasionally creates imbalance in workload and accountability. Because the environment is so fast-paced and loosely structured, not everyone manages that well. If you thrive in self-directed environments and like the challenge of owning your results, you’ll probably love it here. But if you need more structure or consistent oversight, it might feel chaotic at times.

Thanks for the honest and thoughtful feedback. We’re glad to hear the trust, autonomy, and pace are energizing - that’s exactly what we aim for. You’re also right that flexibility comes with responsibility. It’s something we’re aware of and continuously working on - finding the balance without adding unnecessary structure. Appreciate you helping shape the culture by being both candid and committed.

Pros

InCommodities has everything in my opinion: - Work on a problem space that is critical to the green transition: If energy production isn't planned and balanced properly (energy trading is critical here), things break. And the more renewables are added, the more volatile the energy supply. - Autonomy and empowerment: InCommodities prides itself on bottom-up decision making where everyone can initiate and take responsibility for non-trivial decisions using an advice process. - Extreme transparency and trust. - Flat hierarchy. - Great pay. - Great location: Aarhus is lovely.

Cons

This is a place for high achievers. If you don't plan on giving your best and leaning into the culture, and instead prefer a low-effort, low-impact work-life, this place isn't for you.

Thanks for the kind words - we’re glad you appreciate the culture of trust and shared responsibility at InCommodities. Innovation and ideas from everyone are core to how we work. We know our flat, decentralized style isn’t for everyone, but it’s central to the autonomy we believe in.
