Pros

I joined InStride recently and it feels like I've been here more than a year! The mission for helping frontline workers & employees access life-changing education feels really rewarding, and it feels really good to wake up every day knowing my work is tied to something so impactful. The people here are not only smart and driven but also genuinely fun to work with! (Lots of humor!) Cross-functional team members never fail to roll up their sleeves to help each other and support. Biggest plus: Given the nature of the business and client needs around data transparency and ROI, investments in Data & Analytics is a big win! Analytics isn’t treated as a back-office reporting function, but as central to driving key business decisions and solving business problems (ROI, LE Funnel, data quality, CP trust etc.) Unlike many ed-tech firms, I think data here feels like a core part of the product/platform and client value, In many ways it drives retention, expansion, and overall business defensibility.

Cons

Workloads spike during peak client deliverables, so balancing priorities is key. ( Data & Analytics team is growing, but still lean for the company of this size) We use many different tools, some of which could be consolidated to simplify work and protect budget.

Pros

Innovative industry and coworkers Meaningful work that contributes positively to the world

Cons

Leadership requires that promotions can only given with strong individual performance and a demonstrated business need, but the criteria for a business need are not shared. Employees with similar roles and less tenure may be promoted, while others who receive strong reviews are not, without clear rationale. Concerns about promotion fairness have been raised internally, but leadership has not addressed them meaningfully.
