Pros

I started with company when it was DOD. At that time I felt a make a difference. There was no pressure to provide things you are not comfortable to do/ not enough knowledge/ out of your expertise. Management was very supportive.

Cons

When company changed to Included Health emphasis changed rapidly to money driven company. You have to provide everything that patient want doesn't matter how wrong/ unethical /even risky it can be. Patient - in this case customer is paying and so has right to get everything and evaluate provider for anything. Simply if you will not give patient what you want you will be evaluated low by patient and punished by management. Providers salary is linked to patient satisfaction. In direct way patient is aware that he/she/it can punish provider any time and provider is force to give them what they want. That makes any customer the physician without going to medical school/residency/practice.

One of our values is "We Put the Member First" meaning we work to achieve health outcomes and member moments worth celebrating. We have an Issues, Complaints and Events Reporting process that is managed by clinical quality to review and resolve concerns related to care delivery. This process is critical to protecting our members and clinicians. We also track patient satisfaction for all clinicians to ensure we can coach them on improving their practice if necessary. We advocate for a healthcare system that works for everyone and take the quality of care very seriously.

Pros

+ Mission-driven healthcare; work feels impactful in a positive way + Bright and easy to work with engineering peers with collaborative culture, even in a remote environment + Good work life balance + Diverse and welcoming environment. Above average in this respect when compared to engineering departments at many other tech companies. + Management feels open to feedback

Cons

We are still recovering from a merger between two companies that had many differences in engineering culture, GTM strategy, and products. This led to growing pains and some controversial product decisions, and the impact still remains today with issues like tech debt and overall alignment of the company. It appears that things are improving in these respects, but only time will tell if that ends up being the long-term trajectory.

Thanks for highlighting so many of the elements that make Included a mission-driven community of truly great people. The merger did come with lots of change, but we're glad to hear you've seen improvement - our leaders are focused on change management and making sure we continue to strengthen our Included Health processes.
