Pros

You'll be lured in by good pay, an interesting mission, and clever coworkers, but it isn't worth it

Cons

After 30+ years in the workforce, including a dozen or so start-ups, some very new and finding their footing, Indigo is absolutely the most chaotic company I've ever been part of. They had a good idea but wrecked it, and now they're scrambling because they have no money and the wider world is starting to realize they've fudged all their data. (See the recent article in Science, for one). In the last 6 months, the company has laid off fully ONE THIRD of the company. They've done these layoffs (though not to this extent) every year I've worked at Indigo. It doesn't bother them to hire people, use them for a few months to complete a project, then lay them off. Literally hundreds of people they've done this to. The CEO, Ron, is great at talking, but the company is spiraling, so much so he suggested there will be mandatory furloughs each year even for the people who aren't laid off. Many executives have been working without pay for the last month for Indigo to try to clear its debts, but it's not working. Every person I know at Indigo, and I mean every single person, is looking for a new job because none of us are convinced the company will make it another year. If you're still not convinced, find current/former employees on LinkedIn, they'll confirm what I've said.

Pros

Started with a great vision

Cons

Poor execution Poor management All negative reviews are correct. Notice how HR only replies to 5 star reviews? This place is where dreams go to die. Very grim. It’s a cemetery where investor money is first lit on fire then buried. They are also having money issues given all they have squandered on highly paid incompetent managers. Just read the rest of the negative reviews. Don’t think you will get all your bonuses either. They are struggling with cash. Most managers don’t care. They just want to collect their salaries and go home. No motivation. Just a dishonest HR/upper management. There are too many flaws for me to list all.

Pros

The office is pretty nice, both in Boston and Memphis

Cons

Indigo acquired Tellus(mostly people from BCG) a while back and now BCG is taking over everything at Indigo because they are good at making slides. The company hired way too many consulting people from a management consulting background. A few of them are good and they know tech. But most of them have no technology background and have no idea how long it will take to build some infrastructure from the ground up. They keep making impossible promises and starting new projects that do not work. Management team is full of lies and all they do is making slides with data that nobody knows where it comes from. All hands meeting every week just slowly becomes a joke. Obviously cash flow is a big problem so they have to layoff a lot of ppl in the last 4 months because no business model works for Indigo so far. There is no current CFO at the company because they can not find one...The company is very likely not going to survive this year. For some teams they laid off all the individual contributors and left out the directors only. How ironic. A company that has more managers than individual contributors .
