Pros

Great group of individuals, strong community, amazing client relationships with big companies. Intensive, rewarding work on diverse projects.

Cons

The pay scale doesn't exactly match up with other agencies or software companies in the industry.

Pros

A collection of some of the best people I've ever worked with. Smart, funny, kind, talented, hardworking. As mentioned in other reviews the different teams have different styles so that may effect things, but I always had a positive experience. I think there's a genuine commitment to getting more diverse people in the door and improving, and I think that's more an industry and society wide issue that you just see manifest at Instrument as well, nothing specific to Instrument or its environment. I can see why people say its clique-y but I think that's just because a lot of people are friends outside of work. If you make anything approaching an effort you'll find that the vast majority of people are kind and welcoming. Great client work too. The roster is top-notch and Instrument always ships good stuff.

Cons

I think the biggest thing was low compensation, and some unevenness around promotions although I've saw that improve a lot during my time there. I think it's part of the overall progression from being a smaller, looser place to a bigger org.

Pros

Instrument attracts fantastic and talented people. Lots of opportunity to make great, impactful work at this place with some real gems of humans. There is pretty good support for folks who want to grow in their careers. Creative leadership is very strong. Lots of great big-tech clients, if that's what you're interested in. The work and the industry feel stable and exciting. Overall, I feel the company has done a good job improving DE&I efforts for real, and being clear about how that work will impact every piece of the org moving forward.

Cons

Overall vibe, managers, and client/project opportunities vary widely by team and discipline. If you're interviewing, be sure to ask lots of questions to understand the specific landscape you're coming into. Compensation is lower than other agencies and tech companies. Know some friends and colleagues who have been offered lower salaries and titles than at previous jobs. Project management can feel chaotic. Producers often move folks between projects, or split time across multiple projects. Lots of growing pains related to rapid growth and remote work that I expect will continue.
