Great Start, Bitter End

Pros

IAS had a lot going for it. A warm team of people. The population was diverse. Lots of treats and snacks to keep people hooked on staying.

Cons

Then the pandemic hit and shortly thereafter, a lot of jobs ended including mine. It got increasingly more corporate and the toxicity was starting to show.

Pros

So far, my role has changed from what I was hired for, BUT honestly, that made me happy. My Manager has been pushing me, and challenging me to work on higher level work, and that's exactly what I've been needing. I also feel like she's been giving just the right amount of support. Everyone on my team is sooo smart, and so driven, but still are very different from each other. My team is actually diverse, and I love it. Even though I haven't been able to meet everyone in the Chicago office, everyone from SLT down, has made me feel so welcomed, and are actually quite funny. Unlimited PTO really helps with taking time off, especially with everything that's been going on. I have great work life balance, and able to communicate openly with my Manager about what's going on in my personal life. No judgement, only support. There has been some hiring of new leadership, and honestly, it's helping the company move in the right direction. I've met multiple SLT and C-Suite members, and they're down to earth, extremely knowledge about the space, and crazy innovative. Also, this is the first company I've worked for where SLT, Leaders, and ICs are actively vocal about Inclusion and Diversity, and actively doing something about it.

Cons

I would love to see more extensive "Wellness" benefits like a company funded HRA, or Life Style Spending Account. The benefits are not expensive compared to my last company, which was a fraction of the size of IAS, but I would love to see them cheaper/employer contribution. Also, since I use my phone a lot for work, I do think there should be a monthly phone stipend that is added to our paychecks. I used to get $75-100 at my last companies, and it definitely adds up over the year. I do wish we hired an Inclusion and Diversity team to help steer and lift our I&D initiatives off the ground. They would be extremely impactful.
