Pros

Fast growing firm in the cyber security space, exceptional benefits coupled with a challenging work environment. Just wanted to provide a rebuttal to some of the claims from previous posts: 1. The company does offer a 401(k) with a 4% employer match and a profit sharing plan. You must work at the company for 12-months prior to eligibility. The company provides annual enrollment education seminars about the plan and investment options. 2. Three comprehensive benefit plans available including health, dental, vision and life insurance. 50% costs paid by the company. Also includes a $400 wellness allowance at Colorado Athletic Club. 3. The company launched their Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) plan on January 1st, 2013 as promised by management. Well thought out plan that triggers 100% vesting upon any change of control of company, not typically found in other companies. 4. Average raise by my peers the last 3-years has been 10%. 5. As for turn-over, company grew 100% from a revenue and staff perspective from 2010-2012 resulting in some bad management and staff hires. A house cleaning took place in the summer of 2012 (hence the two previous posts who were "expunged") during the process. Company added a CFO, Director of Operations and Director of Consulting Services from Citigroup, Quiznos and an Officer in Marine Corp. There are many college graduates hired and provided $5K annually for training for CISSP, CFE, CISM, CHE and CISA security professions. I personally attained my CISSP which the company funded in 2012. 6. Senior leadership (CEO and CTO) are well seasoned and been through hyper-growth before and managed a very tough summer by taken aggressive action to right the ship. Rather than languish with the wrong people they removed the cancers and improved the quality of staff at every position. My final comment would be that things do not happen over night in business and everything the owners have promised eventually transpires, specifically with the RSU plan. The owners work the longest hours and lead by example and as a team member you need to keep pace to be successful. Success is greatly rewarded at BEW.

Cons

1. Long hours and serious expectation to perform above current abilities at times. 2. Pay is below industry average first year, but if you prove yourself, compensation advancement is quick. 3. The business moves rapidly and change is constant which makes for fast decisions and at times difficult days at the office.

Pros

*Gain experience in an industry with high demand and little labor supply. *Most of the people were friendly and a pleasure to work with. *Allowed 3 weeks of flex-time vacation at start and $300 allowance for any recreational "healthy lifestyle" activities.

Cons

When first interviewing with BEW Global, it is a warm welcome and friendly office environment. The dress code is casual and there seems to be that type of tech start-up environment that is encouraging. In the interview process they stress that everyone has a chance to contribute to the company and make changes at the highest level. However, the attitude changes once you begin working there. Here are some of the things potential new employees need to know about BEW Global: -Average industry starting salary is $60k-$80k. Average BEW Global starting salary is $35k-$45k. They post salary ranges 10k-20k above what they offer in their job postings, and then once the interview process is complete they blindside you with a lowball offer. -Terrible benefits. There is no 401k, and supposedly there is a profit sharing program, but everyone I asked had never received any benefits from it. -Besides the founders, most everyone who works there is young (average age is mid-20s). Normally that would represent energy and the bright future of a company, but these young employees are getting hired on and immediately put into manager roles with absolutely zero managerial experience (on top of little to no work experience). Some of them are arrogant, and it is visibly clear of the power struggle between these young managers. There is clearly a lack of professionalism in this work environment. One would even go as far as to say offensive at times. -Part of the reason for this power struggle is that these first wave of college hires were promised equity and influence in the company by the founders (*based on performance). In return for this promise, the company uses and abuses these young college hire employees. To date, no one has received equity in the company. It is not written in any of the contracts, yet these young managers continually try to *outperform and compete with each other. But rather competing to promote the mutual benefit of the company, it has turned into a selfish showboat attitude. This has made for a very stressful work environment and these young managers are delusional in thinking they are going to become rich because of this. -Despite the internal stress, the actual external stress of the work is high. BEW Global likes to think they are a consulting and business intelligence company, but really that is a grand illusion. It is a break/fix company. The technology breaks, and then BEW Global tries to fix it. Even though that may be a realistic assessment of most tech service companies, BEW Global takes it to a whole new level with incompetence. There is absolutely no training for new hires. -The founders and managers preach that everyone should be innovative and strive for improvement of the company's practices and services.I have witnessed multiple times employees bring up innovative solutions to improve the company's services and actually prevent the company from losing money. The company ignores it's own internal business intelligence. -There is absolutely no direction or leadership of this company. Unfortunately the founders and the 25 year old managers just aren't getting the job done. And this leads to chaos and complaint with the clients. Not to mention the founders have already ran the company into the ground once and had to fire almost 90% of its employees. -For being an information security company, BEW Global is sometimes ignorant of information security best practices.
