Pros

I worked for the eSignal division of Interactive Data in Hayward, CA. Years ago, when the company was public, it was a good place to work with new products being developed and plans to expand, but once they were bought by an investment group, then sold to the ICE exchange, they no longer fit into the long term plans of the parent company and staff has been reduced severely.

Cons

Now, they are just keeping the employees around until the division is no longer profitable. No plans to grow the division or develop any new products. They already laid off one department.

Pros

The people Good exposure to the industry

Cons

Disorganized, moral at all-time low. Will expect you to put in the work of many while paying well below market value. Cut vacation days / healthcare benefits less than ideal since being acquired by ICE. Longer workday for less pay. No regard for employees, micromanaging a big problem. Lacks tools, resources, perspective and compassion. Will always lowball your annual reviews. All divisions lack communication skills. Many new hires do not receive the training in which they need in order to succeed in their role, leaving others to pick up the slack with little to no recognition.

Pros

The team of people that I worked with was the best part of my job. Many of the employees in the group that I worked in had 15 plus years of service and a wealth of knowledge of best practices. The company and had undergone many transitions with changes of ownership the last ownership being ICE. The changes and continual downsizing had begun to take its toll on staff. The benefits were good and better than average paid time off.

Cons

The department I was part of was acquired by ICE about one year before I left and had several changes in ownership prior to that. The theme in the company was do more with less people.
