Pros

There are some really awesome people that work here and a very cool industry. Christmas shutdown is nice, and there are some really hardworking engineers.

Cons

Not having made a profit for several years along with no raises or bonuses has caused many engineers to leave the company. The sad thing is leadership encouraged and expected people to quit. As these people left more responsibility is handed off to thr people covering ultimately having one engineer do 2-4 people's jobs. Instead of recognizing the hard work all management and leadership did was give more and expect more work to be done with no compensation or at least some type of recognition. We've had benchmarking done to see where we stand a few times but apparently we need to pay a few times over to get the hint that something is clearly wrong. The best part is after the benchmarking we decide to develop our own team called the jsop and combine all the leaders who are now immune to any type of discipline and just fire off orders to lower levels for cuts and decision making without real thorough review on the long term impact or impact to employees morale. They rather save a few thousand bucks a year to release a worse off product just so they can report to the ceo that they met their budget cut targets. This company is disturbingly top heavy from chief level up. There are too many chief engineers, too many directors, and pointless redundant vp's. This is where a lot of the money is being wasted. The salary to output performance ratio is poor and half of them don't even know anything about a truck let alone drive one. Engineers have fallen way behind the industry pay and so much talk about salary increases with no delivery on it has lost its value. Also we have way too many meetings. They just slow down performance and many of them are redundant as they then get rebroadcast to upper management like a terrible merry go round. The best part is the presentations to leadership has to be dumbed down to first grade levels with special colors and fonts so they know that green is good and red is bad. Let's take all technical information out and lose half of the delivery of thr purpose so the management can comprehend something... Oh and it's always funny when leadership is running with their pants at their ankles down the hall when there's a huge problem...huge amounts of meetings and time then is spent for solutions which then are presented to leadership and then quickly is shut down because it surprisingly costs money to actually fix something and do it right.

Pros

Not many, the turnaround is entering its fourth year and there is little hope this will be the year we return to profitability.

Cons

Management, all levels seem to have no clue what it is they are doing. This is especially apparent at the most senior levels. The moral is at an all time low, which is saying something. The only happy employees are the ones that took part in the Voluntary Separation Program, their end dates are in the next week or two...

Unfavorable to say the least

Pros

I can't think of any unless you are in the upper echelon of the corporate ladder or a CEO who can mess up the business with Ford and walk away with a 16 million dollar payday to resign/retire.

Cons

It is a sinking ship so don't plan on retiring and keep your resume on file. It may take a while to sink but inevitably it will.
