Pros

If you are from a health care field its a great mix of colleagues, and you will learn a lot, though often on your feet, just getting thrown in. Many upper managers were extremely caring & helpful with advancement & support both personally and professionally. No more insidious, arrogant or malicious than any other work culture I have experienced. Salary was almost ok at first but took a few years before it was fair. One often had to fight for decent compensation and show you were dedicated before you were remunerated fairly for the time & effort put in. End users, families generally found our service good and the patient care and our staff did go very far to care for our members.

Cons

There were a few mid & upper management that put self preservation before teamwork. Little to no career advancement or staff development, you were often juggling too many tasks at once, sometimes in questionable international legal situations, not getting support until near mental breakdown. But this may vary from region to region. The managerial matrix could be very isolating and there were particular upper regional managers that seemed to be put there for their business connections rather than their ability to lead, a number of very wrong fits, but on occasion their were great leaders, but these left rather quickly. Membership is frustrating to some consumers in many locations, as well as to management that are told to sell our service but hindered by this service model.
