Pale comparison of what they used to be

Pros

You MIGHT be invited to be a shareholder if you can choke down 10+ years,… but you have to be okay with bleeding blue for the company and putting your personal life on the sideline. Travel like a dog or sell your soul. Pay isn’t awful There’s some remote work.

Cons

They’ve changed in the last decade. The interstates I knew preached Family. YOUR FAMILY, as their core value, and I genuinely think they actually were that diamond in the rough back in their day. 2013-2016 were the peak Interstates days. They were best when they were a smaller sized company, but by god they have to double in size every two years to appease the Harbor Group investors. Nowadays they’re the same cookie cutter “we’re family here” toxic corporate environment. They’ll ditch their values the second it inconvenience them and they won’t think twice. You’re a number, nothing more or less. If you’re planning to seek new employment, or comeback to this employer I suggest to run the other direction.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and for your time with us. We’re sorry to hear this was your experience. Growth can be hard, and while we’re proud of how far we’ve come, we never want it to feel like we’ve lost who we are. Family and feedback still matter here. Our size is one reason we’ve been intentional about things like weekly culture actions—to help our team live out and connect with our values. Culture continues to be one of the top drivers of engagement in our internal surveys, and we know that means we need to protect and invest in it as we grow. We know we’re not perfect, but we want to listen and keep our values at the center—no matter our size.

Pros

Overall pretty decent. Depends heavily on who site leadership is. Steady work and decent benefits.

Cons

If site leadership is bad. It can be pretty terrible. Seems to be very heavy on overhead as an organization. Profit sharing could be alot better,
