Pros

Good earning potential if you can consistently close deals. Strong product reputation in the market which helps open doors. Commission can be attractive in the short term if you perform well.

Cons

Low base salary relative to the amount of work and pressure expected in the role. You are heavily reliant on commission to make the role worthwhile, which adds additional stress. Very political environment with clear favouritism towards long-tenured employees. Senior leadership tends to prioritise rehiring former employees from years ago instead of investing in new talent and fresh ideas. There is a disconnect between asking for innovation and actually enabling it. Lack of support from leadership, especially for newer hires. Decisions are often biased towards those who have been at the company for 5+ years, making progression feel based on relationships rather than performance. High pressure sales culture with little margin for error. One bad quarter and you are quickly placed on performance plans, which creates a constant sense of instability rather than long-term development. Sales environment can be frustrating, you can close a deal and still have other reps asking for splits despite minimal involvement. This creates internal conflict and reduces motivation. Overall not a good place if you are looking to build a long-term career or maintain a healthy work environment.

Pros

Strong Foundation: Intralinks is a well-structured organization with highly reputable, industry-standard products, particularly within the Private Equity sector. Great Onboarding: They offer thorough and formal training programs at their Singapore regional office. Competitive Perks: The compensation is at market rate, accompanied by excellent medical benefits that cover family members. Generous Budget: There is an abundance of marketing and T&E (Travel & Entertainment) expenses available for client engagement and prospecting for scene candling making, aerial Yoga class, plus wine and dine.

Cons

The middle management admittenly does not know how to expand to subscription model in Hong Kong. They will reply with 'true, true true' with meaning that AE are failing at your own cost when 'strategic hire fails. Sales management would groom and praise to you at day 1 and pretend not seeing you at the second month. Inconsistent Leadership, and Management communication can be erratic. New hires often experience a "honeymoon phase" with high praise initially, followed by a noticeable drop-off in support. This lack of sustained mentorship contributes to a "hire and fire" culture for Account Executives. Cliquish Culture: The office dynamic in HK can feel exclusionary. There is a strong perception of favoritism based on personal loyalty and office politics rather than pure sales merit, making it difficult for those outside the "inner circle" to thrive. Survival hinges on riding within the gossip inner circle, and sales gossip client's education, family, career, wealth as tokens of trades for helps. Dated Product Interface: The UI/UX feels ancient compared to modern SaaS standards. Customers frequently report difficulties navigating the platform, which creates friction during the sales process. Pre-Sales/Engineering Disconnect: Support from the solutions team during pitches is often inefficient. There is excessive back-and-forth questioning about specific "use cases" when the primary driver (e.g., standard fundraising) is already obvious, which slows down the sales cycle instead of supporting the pitch.
