Pros

Big firm. Good Resources. Cost of Living is cheap in Houton so your pay stretches further. Fairly laid back atmosphere.

Cons

Long hours and odd strategic direction shifts by top management.

Pros

Solid product suite, global reach, and well known brand

Cons

Focus on retail side of the business and lack on focus on high-revenue potential of institutional business. Consulting firms (McKinsey) with limited knowledge of the industry or internal structure running key projects directly reporting to Executive Mngt. The recommendations are all "white paper" or "metric" based; limits the input from experienced staff, lowers competitive advantages, and doesn't leverage the resource in place. The few promotions that happen are the McKinsey consultants coming on full time. It's disappointing, because Invesco is great firm with great potential and they should leverage the dedicated employees who have been with the firm for years (avg of 10+ years) and not empower consultants fresh out of college to run the company.

Pros

The people I work with are all very personable and fun to work with. Management is very open about giving you the opportunity to explore different career paths within the firm. Pay is very good for the location and vs competitors. Very broad product suite and the company as a whole seems to be on the upswing.

Cons

People don't seem to be all that interested in the markets which I was a little disappointed with. Brand recognition could be A LOT better. Promotions seems to be somewhat more based on how well you get along with management and seniority than straight performance.
