      Pros

      Great retirement, decent benefits, some nice coworkers, many students who truly want and need to better themselves through education.

      Cons

      Faculty are treated like fast food workers, with absolutely no respect for their education or expertise. College is being run like a corporation instead of an academic institution. My chair is incompetent and no one seems to care. They expect faculty to work when they are off contract/on break.

      Pros

      I love teaching and working with the students.

      Cons

      The administration has become excessively centralized and the college is very poorly managed. Faculty are not valued and aren't given any real input into decisions even essential academic ones. They are also micromanaged and not treated as professionals. Faculty efforts are diverted to any number of additional responsibilities without pay. Unfortunately, the additional responsibilities pull faculty away from what should be their primary focus - teaching.

      Great team I work with being part time. That unfortunately is the only PRO I've encountered thus far being employed by Ivy for over a year...

      Cons

      No room to move positions AT ALL. Kind of a joke really.
