Pros

Great brand history. Some smart people.

Cons

Tons of politics. Volatile environment. Pressure to cut corners. The bankruptcy of the whole brand.

Pros

You'll find yourself a nice friend group and get to add J.crew to your resume

Cons

Corrupt internal promotion system - evaluated once a year and promoted every two years. Lack of pay increase annually, at most the standard of living. Lots of gossip among the hire ups that trickle down to all levels of employees which promotes unhealthy moral. You will never be included in higher up conversations yet have to relay all information to the factories discussed at those meetings. Lack of collaboration between teams. (design/product/merch/tech).

Pros

Some really smart people were in merchandising when I worked there. I learned a lot from the DMM / SVP level.

Cons

Was very clique-y, felt like your looks and where you went to school and financial status were as important as your work.
