Pros

Great benefits. Rather easy jobs. I've seen so many barely sufficient jobs but nobody cared. So if you are looking for routine work, JFC would be an okay place to work.

Cons

Useless managers. To be a manager only thing you have to do is being a yes-man/woman. While I was there, I have seen so many smart/hard-working employees left the company due to poor management. They care little about improving service or sales but more about making the president happy—also so few career advancements within the company. Very toxic workplace. Lots of clicks. If you find the group you belong to, you will have an okay time working and gossiping. But if you rather work professionally, JFC is not a place to work.

Pros

Health benefit is good; Company car; Provide cheap food for employees; Sponsor visas for foreign employees.

Cons

1. Top management ignores serious issues and avoids changes. 2. Discrimination against Korean, Chinese and Mexican employees. Favor Japanese. If you are not Japanese, the chance to get promotion is nearly impossible. 3. Pretty much hire anyone who is Asian and speaks English. Extremely high employee turnover rate. People quit in a heart beat when they get other job offers. 4. Politics play big in the office. Hard work is not being recognized. 5. Work life balance is horrible. No overtime payment. 6. Branch manager picks favorites and bully certain employees for no good reasons. 7. Several sexual harassment cases have been filed, but no actions were taken. Extremely disrespectful for female employees which is typical Japanese company culture. 8. Depressing working environment. Will not recommend it to anyone.

Pros

Their benefits are very good and they have many connections within their industry. If you're looking for a company where being Japanese is important JFC may be for you.

Cons

Unsafe work conditions in the warehouse, particularly the freezer. They under pay in almost all positions. Very much a Japanese company, with a dash of American. It is well known within the company that you can't get any of the higher positions without being Japanese. Most of their office employees are Japanese who got their green card through lottery. JFC underpays them because they can't get jobs otherwise as they often haven't learned English. Their IT company is outsourced to another child of it's parent company Kikkoman. Updates to software or other daily business practices take years.
