Janrain....past, present, future....
Pros
I recently just celebrated by 7 year anniversary at Janrain, and WHAT A RIDE! The ups, the downs, the people....the list goes on and on. This was all before the acquisition by Akamai just took place.....so I guess you can now call us AKAMAI IDENTITY CLOUD. :) But without boring y'all to death, I can say that this place isn't for everyone. But the one thing that stuck out more than anything else, was the people....and I mean that. This place knew how to hire good, smart, collaborative, dedicated, supportive folks. Like I said, this place isn't for everyone. But no one let anything get in their way of accomplishing what they were set out to do.
Cons
If one can put all the positiveness aside, there are a few areas of improvement, from my perspective. Executive level transparency could use some work. There tend to be a handful of hidden agendas amongst the senior staff, which got in the way of the rest of us' day to day jobs. Product Management could have also used some better startegies with Sales, PS, CS, ENG, and Marketing. Visibility and transparency are key in any Product organization. From our Roadmap to our Feature Request process organizational alignment wasn't always.....well....aligned.
