Pros

Working with all Building and Fire Codes Travel to work sites

Cons

Company is owned and operated by venture capitalists. Good ole boys network in the Midwest and we all know what that means. Ladies: They definitely prefer to hire you but at most you will be an Assistant Director. Current structure in place has been embedded for many years. The soul of engineering was removed from this company long ago.

Pros

Great projects and friendly atmosphere (in my experience)

Cons

During these tough times (Floyd protests and COVID) I began to analyze the company. The company, and Raj himself, is sending out messages acknowledging the painful times caused by the discrimination of black lives. The company claims to support diversity and people of all ethnic backgrounds. However, I haven’t come across one black employee. Leadership is predominantly all white male. Being true leaders in the industry requires leadership in all aspects, including fighting for social change.

We appreciate your honesty and thank you for expressing your observations and feedback. We agree that we still have a long way to go when it comes to diversity. Please know we are committed to our core value of Promoting Diversity and stand firm in our dedication to take action. As a first step, we recently appointed an Inclusion and Diversity (I+D) Executive Sponsor, our COO, who will help drive efforts and ensure that we are taking steps forward. One of the first initiatives is creating an I+D Committee representative of the diversity we know we need as a company. The committee will work together to create an I+D strategy that will foster the change we all want to see. If you have any ideas you would like to share around I+D or if you are interested in joining the committee, please contact your HRBP as they would be more than happy to continue this conversation with you. Thank you again for voicing your concerns. Change is already underway.

Pros

Work from home policy, unlimited leave within reason for salaried employees,

Cons

The benefits are iffy for such a big company, too much focus on billable hours and not enough on building relationships with our clients for the long term. Everyone is stretched so thin that it has become really stressful.
