Pros

Acquiring and merging many (20+) smaller and complementary/competing firms within adjacent industries is a great business strategy that has the potential for great synergy that could benefit customers and employees. Lots of talented engineers, scientists and loyal administrative support staff.

Cons

From my viewpoint, senior leadership did not trust, value or act on the experience and leadership of the companies they acquire. Instead they believed they knew best and tried to force the business model they knew onto these companies. This resulted in talent leaving and low moral for those who tried to stick it out. I believe, JH bit off more than it could chew with all of their M&A activity. This came at the expense of a heathy and thriving work culture and is instead replaced it with a very traditional, authoritarian, top down, fear based hierarchy. And while there is seemingly plenty of opportunity for those looking for a challenge and want to grow, unfortunately, because decisions are made so high up, it’s hard to make any impact unless your in senior leadership, so most people are along for the ride.

Pros

Absolutely thing comes to mind. Most of the highly skilled forensic experts are gone. Those who remain are great, but there aren't many of them left.

Cons

It's a private equity skeleton of a formerly great firm.

No Accountability

Pros

I was paid well but I know my coworkers were underpaid

Cons

This has to be the most toxic company I've ever worked for. There is no accountability and it feels like junior to mid-level staff have no idea what's going on. It felt like every project went over budget and missed deadlines. My supervisor would purposefully avoid clients until they would call my cell phone yelling at me. Additionally, my supervisor made me feel extremely uncomfortable and it was swept under the rug. My supervior's boss wouldn't allow me to discuss the matter with HR and inserted himself because he didn't want to make it a "thing." Be weary of this company.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Please know, we take your comments very seriously, and this type of behavior is intolerable and not at all reflective of our core values. We want our staff to always feel comfortable going to HR and encourage them to do so with any issues they may have. Again, thank you for raising your concerns. We will work diligently to ensure that this situation does not happen in the future.
