Pros

I've worked in the DC office and really love it here. I was very fortunate to join when I did and come up with a Recruiting class that I'm bonded with and have become my friends for life. This place will give back what you put in, but if you half-ass it, aren't mature enough, or have too much of an ego, you will not do well here. - Great Culture: you can truly be yourself and you will be accepted, unless you're a racist, homophobic, or a misogynist (you are not welcomed here) - I truly believe anyone can be good at this job because you adapt the training to your style (whether you are introvert or an extrovert, whether you actually know the technology or don't understand it all, whether you have a lick of business sense or not, etc.) - Unlike other sales jobs, you will not get cut if you're not performing -> Numbers and KPIs are important, but are you learning the fundamentals and improving? - Training is great, tons of leeway to learn and become good at the job, but if you end up leaving or are let go, you will find a great internal recruiting position somewhere - Top performing office (DC) so you will be around a winning culture and will learn from the best. - Supportive management staff that wants to see you succeed and will help you out -> Just make sure you get more than one person's perspective/opinion when asking for help because one person's advice will hit you different than other's

Cons

- The staff is senior so it will be a grind for junior staff to get ahead since they are competing for new clients against some of the top performers in the company -> but the strongest steel is forged by the hottest fire, so you will get ahead if you put forth the effort - Because DC is a high performing region, you may feel intimidated, or may not ask for help which ends up hurting your growth -> but I'd also say there are no stupid questions, so just ask for help - There are ups and downs in sales, you're not protected from an emotional roller coaster, or extreme highs and very low lows - Commissions are more heavily weighed towards individual performance versus individual + team like before, which inevitably changes the incentive from "I'll make money as long as the team places this candidate" to "I'll make the most money if I placed this candidate over someone on the team".

Pros

in a good location in the city, accessible by train

Cons

This place was absolutely so toxic and truly put me in such a mentally bad place. I was only here for a few months before calling it quits. Those in my personal life could noticeably see how stressed/anxious/unhappy I was due to this job. I am only posting this because I want to share my experiences and warn people about Jobspring's targeted hiring strategies aimed at naive, recent college graduates or those with little to no work experience who are desperate for a job. Trust me, it is NOT worth it. When I was hired, I was actually quite excited because the hiring manager was so sweet and we bonded really quickly. I was really impressed about how much you could "potentially grow within this position". It was not until a few weeks in working directly on this said hiring manager's team that I realized how fake and manipulative they could be. I was always micromanaged about my work, criticized (one time this person pulled me aside to personally scream at me about how disappointed they were that I was late. it was a.. I quote, "direct slap to their face"), ignored whenever I asked simple questions, left out of all the group outings (one of the very few Fridays I started working, I was typing away at my computer and suddenly looked up to see an empty office... no one told me they were all going out for lunch. i was a new employee and was left in the office by myself) and and overall not taken seriously as a professional. They want to sell this idea that their recruiting agency is "different from other recruiting agencies because of their team based approach"... however there is almost little to no teamwork. It's every man for themselves... or if you want to go far, just kiss up to your team lead because they are the ones with the most client accounts/jobs to fill. Or lie. Lying will get you far in this job too. Every week, the office director would put everyone's weekly stats on the board and they would announce the progress of every employee in the office... and ridicule those who had low numbers. There was almost no encouragement and NO efficient way to train/ help employees. For example, my training in itself was a complete mess. I would just watch videos everyday for weeks and then they just expected you to know what to do after. The person who directly trained me and who was supposedly a "mentor" figure always made me feel like a nuisance because she had to take time away from her work (which meant she couldn't make commission) to help ME even though it was apart of HER job to do so. Overall, I would just describe this specific Jobspring location as toxic. Toxic work culture that only really cared about partying with each other on weekends, toxic and cliquey and fake individuals (i'll give u an example by what i mean.... when i joined the team, people from the office followed me on instagram, including my direct team members. when i quit, my direct team members were petty enough to all unfollow me. mind you, i had done nothing to them prior nor did i personally end things with them on a bad note.) and an absolutely unprofessionally run company (they would make fun of their candidates while on the phone with them conducting phone screens. Someone once muted themselves and put a candidate on loud speaker so the whole office could hear their voice and made fun of them). My last week at Jobspring was the reason I decided to quit- it was just the last straw for me. I had already been feeling extremely anxious from this job due to the long hours and constant worry of being criticized for my work performance/numbers. This definitely translated into my work.. and I was given a choice by the director - quit the job or either get my ish together and be fired by him within a few months. I was in shock when I was given that ultimatum and I think they expected an answer right then and there. I asked for a day to think over everything and they agreed. The next day I went in and quit. The exact last words the office director told me as I walked out of the office was "good luck with the rest of your life". I am not saying that Jobspring is completely at fault with how everything turned out. I just really am shocked as to how rude and unprofessional the leaders and employees of this office are. Yes, some people will not be right for this position because after all, it is a sales job. But what gives you a right as a so called "professional" to treat your employees the way I was treated? I was very fortunate to find another job in a few months after quitting Jobspring. When I began working at my current employer, I reflected and realized how extremely toxic of a work environment Jobspring was. At my current job, I am never micromanaged and my manager treats me with respect and as a human who can sometimes makes MISTAKES. I also get paid more and have an actual work/life balance. So if you are reading these reviews and come across this one while contemplating whether or not you want to move forward with this company, take my advice and REALLY think about what you want. Trust me, I think you deserve better.
