Pros

You can make some really good clients who treat you well and may be friends down the line. You get some clothing benefits.

Cons

They like to guise each employee “wearing many hats” instead of actually paying them for their work. Expect to be working as a keyholder (you get a key) but be paid and expect the benefits of an associate. If you ask why title key holder get management title and pay when you do practically the same work, get the word insubordination thrown around. The difference between Management and associates is that management is there to “motivate and inspire and foster a better work environment ”. Not very lgbtq+ friendly. Had a very catty team. Clothing is not as good quality as before and steals a lot of appropriative designs from cultures without educating where it came from. They want a diverse cast but their definition of diverse is ethnically ambiguous women. Not a great place if you want to express yourself with the brand.

Pros

The clothing allowance is nice considering the clothes are expensive.

Cons

Johnny Was takes advantage of unexpected new hires by their misleading job title and duties. They interview applicants for sales associate positions when the position is actually a key holder position. They do not want to give employees the correct title for the position so they can avoid paying the correct wages and health benefits for a key holder position. Employees need the correct title for the position they hold to place on their resumes to further their careers. They do not tell you that you will be responsible for managerial duties, opening, and closing the business until you are hired. This is unethical. They take advantage of you by explaining it’s a “team” atmosphere. If it’s a team atmosphere be honest about the position title and pay accordingly.
