Pros

Able to sell and build relationships with customers. Great discount. Built some great relationships with other Journeys employees. Christmas time and other peak seasons were very profitable.

Cons

Work life balance was terrible. Working 60 hours a week with at least 1 12 hr shift per week. Was not allowed breaks to leave the store on 12 hour days. When my co-manager went on vacation I had to work every day all day (7 days 12hrs/day). I left because my supervisor promoted someone who had only been there for a year vs. someone who had been there for 7 yrs and was expected by the other mangers to have the promotion. The payroll management was off for he Kidz store.

Pros

It was nice to have been given a first Job from someone. The discount was nice, and I did like a couple of the employes. The commission is nice though

Cons

In the month in a half I've worked there I've come home crying 4 times because my co manager has repeatedly called me stupid. They put a 16 year old CHILD in a sales floor position which is fine, except the only training I got was a two hour virtual CD. I'm being harassed b/c I can't make their outrageous goals, I was over scheduled one week, under scheduled the next, then not given any work for two weeks. They need to quit giving Highschoolers management positions and give the company actually competent, HELPFUL mangers.

Pros

Everyone at Journeys is very "chill." You can really do anything you want. It's a great place to work if you like laid-back, relaxed employees. But keep in mind, you still are expected to keep up will sales goals. Selling socks is a must!

Cons

In my two years of working there, I never got a raise. The managers are too laid-back sometimes, and the stock room turns into a mess. Also, if you work at the Kidz division, watch out for snotty parents.
