Pros

good discount, fun and laid back people working on store level.

Cons

I left my other job for an opportunity to work in a higher volume setting. I'm getting paid just slightly more and working 10-15 hours more per week. My pay plan looked promising but I know I'm not going to make anything near what I was told. My co and I work 6 days a week every single week. I am probably going to have to fire half my staff because they don't sell enough socks, even though we are pulling out above LY and making sales goals every single week. When I interviewed for the position it was talked up so much and I am extremely disappointed with what it has been like. It amazes me what Genesco can get away with. I rarely ever hear from my DM... or my RD... or anyone else from home office. This is not the company to work for if you have a family. your store will be your life.

Pros

-The discount -The product -I loved working with the people that would come in, really down to earth customers, with cool personalities. - Would be great for a first job.

Cons

The amount of stress that went into this job for 7.25 was nothing. you would get paid 7.25 or commission depending on which was more for you that week. and there was NO way of getting a raise. Getting a raise is "selling more" but when there is no one in the mall, or you are doing stock for your whole shift, thats really really hard. The stress the managers put on us employees with sales goals, SOPs and their expectations was outrageous. No way for a carreer Every manager i met there was not even 21 years old, and had no experience.

Pros

I wish I was able to say something positive about this company. I got a discount and that was nice, other than that there is NOTHING

Cons

I worked closed to 120 hours every two weeks for about a $600 paycheck. I was constantly stressed out and also forced to work 12 hour days about 3 times a week. The stock room was insane and half my job consisted of trying to reorganize the room 2 times a week just to fit more shoes. Our store was falling apart and of course, selling socks was more important than the dingy carpet. Go figure. Oh and I was also promised my own store along with the other assistant manager-- lets see if that ever happened. Take your guess. I wasted 3 years of my life at this joke of a job. Good for starving hippies maybe.
