I worked with awesome people and had fun! For a part-time job it would be great.

Cons

The company does not care about their employees at all. It's basically slave labor. They make managers work 6 days a week... on a CRAP salary.

I learned a lot about both sales, and management. I was able to grow up with the company. The upper level management were very passionate about their jobs

Cons

Like with most jobs there are a lot of politics, stay off of the radar if you are happy with being on a store level, be ready to play the game if you want more. Upper level management were always finding ways to cut corners and would put themselves and their area managers in unethical situations, selfishly costing innocent jobs. I love this company but if you are pursuing a career be very careful what you say and do.

Pros

The pros of working in a Journey's store include the 40% discount, commission structure and the upbeat music played throughout the store. Also, there are opportunities for employees to score free product!

Cons

There are a lot of cons when it comes to working for Journeys. First, salaried positions are paid very poorly with the exception of the store manager. Additionally, Journeys tends to promote people to positions of leadership based on sales alone rather than considering sales and leadership as co-dependent qualities of a good manager. Many store managers are excellent salespeople but horrible managers and thus, there is a high rate of employee turnover.
