Pros

- weekly pay - occasionally fun enviroment - they played mcr in stores

Cons

- sales leads and managers take sales from associates even if the manager has hit their sales goal and the associate is struggling, and then blame the associate when their sales are down - associates don’t make commission, only sales leads and management - at my location one of our managers would get mad over small stuff and go off calling every worker that wasn’t management stupid and an idiot and it created a poor work environment - customers are beyond stupid and rude - journeys claims to be an alt store or provide an attitude you can wear, but they employ people with little to no personality and dislike when you have one. - MANAGEMENT ARE LIARS!!!! i was told i was getting a permanent position and was hired outside of holiday season and then in january i was told i was seasonal and was let go! - you get written up for not bringing out 4 boxes of shoes and 2 pairs of socks to every customer (most people only want one pair of shoes and then you just have a bigger mess to clean up)

Pros

None! Everything was disorganized and chaotic.

Cons

1) Competitive sales, with no commission or extra pay for more sales. The only perk for having great sales is not getting fired! THEY WILL FIRE YOU if you do not meet many sales goals you earn nothing for. 2) Harassment! Due to the competitive sales, with the risk of losing your job, this means your co-workers hate you, and bring toxic hostility if you get a sale, or will lie and input their information for your sale. It is a toxic environment and this is a teen shoe store nothing fancy. 3)Harassment Part 2! The customers DO NOT want to be followed around every inch of the store, they do not want employees down their necks or staring at them constantly. However, Journeys tells you to hover over them and keep asking questions even if they want to be left alone. When a customer wants space, you give them space. I saw many employees continuously approach after a customer rejection because these employees want to keep their jobs and management is watching your every move. Customers are not happy, and employees are stressed out. 4) Pay is $15 no negotiation, no increase.

Pros

The best thing about working for Journeys is the positive and fun environment. Journeys has great company values that are demonstrated from the corporate environment to the store level. The company is big on customer experience.

Cons

Retail by nature is a demanding industry and creates a lot of overtime.
