Pros

Working with Dogs! The handlers really do care about the dogs that they are assigned**, Getting to travel to other locations to work events. Meeting and getting to know some really great people.

Cons

**While the handlers care about the dogs, the company knows this and that is how they have kept handlers from quitting. At the time I left, it was not standard to adopt the older dog to the handlers. The Company leadership has favorites and they use them for just about every "cool" event. Training is mandatory to maintain certification but they only pay you for a portion of it. You HAVE to train at the location you are working while on shift. They have regional trainers that are not able to travel to train but give OK advice. They have handlers that just start that make more than senior handlers (full transparency, this may have changed). Raises went from dollars to max 3%. So a starting handler at 25/h could get a max raise of 3% bumping pay to 25.75/h.
