Pros

Lots of work if you are a work-a-holic, and want to keep yourself busy all the time. Lots of grunt work.

Cons

The associates work their tails off for the company. Appreciate their efforts and don't use them like slaves. Overtime is expected as part of normal routine and like most other Big-4s KPMG is a machine funneling money to the top of the ranks.

Pros

Sometimes the job can be very flexible. During summer, I work from home once every week or two. Also, Jumpstart Fridays are great (leave the office at 3pm). I've met some great people at KPMG trainings from different practices. A lot of happy hours and team lunches/ dinners.

Cons

When newly hired, you are thrown into the ocean and forced to learn how to swim. I had no real experience with IT Advisory and learning was frustrating because of lack of guidance. The job is VERY tedious and lacks the growth to learn any hard skills. I feel like I am loosing opportunity to grow my career by staying at KPMG. Each day here feels like a day I wasted. KPMG expects you to be a slave to the firm. For about 16 weeks a year I find myself working 55-70 hour weeks with no extra compensation even though I am only scheduled to work 40 hrs a week. KPMG expects your job to be your life. They expect you to be dedicated to the job like it is a startup.
