      Pros

      I work as a part time tutor/teacher and the position is flexible: you pick which job offers you want to take. Pay is decent for a part time job.

      Cons

      Sometimes there aren't any students or classes available.

      Pros

      Easy training, flexible schedule. I've never officially taught before, just tutored here and there and I learned a lot about teaching groups in terms of setting an environment and expectations. Manager is super helpful, nice, and on your side.

      Cons

      There's not really any downside to working at Kaplan. I don't think you exactly "climb the ladder" with a job like this, but it definitely gives you experience.

      Some benefits despite the fact that it's only part-time

      Cons

      I was hired as a part-time SAT tutor. I completed all their online training. I let my regional manager know I was finished with the training, and ready to begin tutoring. I received no reply. I emailed again and was told to contact a different regional manager. I contacted this other regional manager and was told that it wasn't quite their busy season yet but there would be tutoring opportunities soon. It has been 2 months now and I have not been contacted by them to tutor any students.
