      I spent more time struggling to navigate the online business systems than actually teaching.

      Pros

      Pay is pretty good (I'm a student), training was informative and done from home. Flexible scheduling.

      Cons

      Extremely long hiring process, and for every hour you spend teaching, you'll spend at least two filling out forms and completing various tasks on their excessively numerous and difficult to navigate business systems.

      Pros

      good training for teachers, and very well structured for scale. Training in one city usually means you get prepared well enough to teach straight away in any city in the USA.

      Cons

      Very cookie cutter approach, and teachers are underpaid for the amount of value we bring. If the teachers were paid more fairly I would have been inclined to stay on. But, we only make 20/hour while kaplan takes 120/hour.

      you can make your own hours a lot of free prep materials to use

      Cons

      my manager is very unresponsive at times - not only to me, but to the students (and their parents) so its hard to keep them happy.. not a steady work
