Pros

Opportunity for gaining nursing experience is abundant

Cons

While trying to promote a positive culture, the network more or less promotes a put on a happy face and bear it all atmosphere. Employees are expected to perform at 100% at all times while wearing a smile but that is difficult to do in an environment where you are singled out for presenting challenges to management. Employees are pretty much told, here is what is expected of you no matter what and if you can't comply, then tough luck. Now instead of taking feedback from employees that are on the front line and finding some sort of compromise with them, they are paying sign on bonuses up to $45,000, dealing with massive turn over, and paying travel nurses significantly more than they would a nurse that they hired on full-time.

Pros

Physically easy job, work is 100% on a computer. That is the only reason I can think of.

Cons

First and foremost, the pay is abysmal and have not caught up with the times. The PTO system they have in place is by far the worst I have ever encountered, I had better PTO in a retail job. This place claims to be family oriented but when it comes to a dying family member or a surgery you are having.. they are more worried about phone coverage so if you have not accrued enough time off then you are screwed. Management plays favorites even though they claim not to, you will not be climbing the ladder if you don't become someone's favorite. They are faith based, which does not amount to much when it comes to scientific medicine (this is a hospital network afterall). They constantly waste money on dumb things instead of paying their employees more. There's probably 100 more things that could be listed off as a con. If you're considering being here long-term just know there is a pay cap and they are hiring new people very close to said pay cap so your 20 years experience gets you the same pay as someone with a fraction of that.
