Pros

The people working the day to day tasks at PlattForm are amazing. Talented, friendly, funny, and caring people. These great people go out of their way to make client requests feasible every day, and it is inspiring.

Cons

Health insurance package is shameful. The medium plan costs $90 a month out of your pay and you have to pay 100% of medical visits and prescriptions up to $1,500. Prescriptions that were $20 on the previous plan are $120 now. I recommend not working here unless you are in perfect health, or covered by other insurance. When that $1,500 out of pocket is more than your bi-weekly paycheck- that is very difficult to manage. Comparable agency jobs insurance is significantly better- though PlattForm will tell you theirs is standard for the market. It might be comparable to an average call center healthcare package, but they are way below the other agencies in the area.

I appreciate your thoughts on our new benefits program. While everyone has different opinions about the program, one thing to keep in mind is the changing environment of the healthcare industry. From what we have heard from insurance providers, this is the trend of healthcare and if companies aren't already using this type of program, they could be soon. The good thing about the healthcare program PlattForm offers is that it does have three options. I realize each employee has unique requirements and hopefully, PlattFormers can find one that best fits their current needs. We are continuing to balance cost to employees and increasing healthcare cost. There will be additional communications coming out to PlattFormers about our benefit program to answer follow-up questions. As always, I encourage you to talk with HR about your concerns. In regard to your comments about locations, yes, do live in Chicago. But, let’s remember our company t is global today across 5 states, and 3 continents. I certainly am learning more and more about all of our areas, but if I offended you in any way about my lack of knowledge about KC, I apologize. I hear you concerning investment towards people and technology. We did invest millions of dollars in technology in 2014-15 (and more coming this year) and excited about our new leader in HR coming on board this past week. Finally, it sounds like you care for PlattForm and hope we can meet sometime face to face to talk directly. I, like you, care for this company and we are all working very hard to continue our company’s transformation. Not easy, but we have made good progress (see recent wins across the Globe!!). I wish you all the best, Steve

Pros

Department Leadership - there are departments/account teams with extraordinary leadership. Co workers - the people here make the experience. Good at the core - the employees and direct managers/directors care. They care about each other, they care about the work they do, they care about the people who keep this organization going. It's not just lip service, like it tends to be at a higher level.

Cons

Unfortunately, there are many decisions that impact employees that our directors/vps (the people who actually know us) have no input or insight into, let alone control over. Changes that effect employees are largely negative - in the last year and a half, not one change that's happened has given employees anything. Every change has been taking something away, or making something worse. Granted, PlattForm is now offering benefits very similar to other companies - but vastly different than what people who've put years into this place have known. Negative after negative after negative makes it tough to see the bright side. No room to improve compensation - compensation is set. No matter how hard you work, you really only have an annual review to look forward to, and it's significantly worse than they used to be. No performance based compensation, no bonuses. You can get almost a perfect score on your performance review, and your raise is the same as the guy next to you. Sugar coating - cannot STAND trying to spin a negative change into something positive when it clearly isn't. We are all intelligent adults. The opportunity to enroll for pet insurance (when it wasn't actually even offered) is not a win for our crappy healthcare. It was mentioned as a benefit every time healthcare changes were discussed. No communication - expect to have life altering changes rolled out a week before they happen.

Your comments are heard! While I disagree with some of your comments I am sure we can always improve. Would really like the opportunity to sit down face to face to talk specifically about your advice and things we can do together to improve our company. You obviously care for PlattForm and we all want to continue to improve. But in the event we cannot connect, let me address a few of your concerns. 1. Agree that many employees really care for the company, the partners we serve, and ultimately the students that get an education. Appreciate that is recognized. 2. While we have had to change some benefits to align to market and to adapt to today's environment., we have tried not changed many of the benefits that employees have said are important . We will continue to evaluate future benefits and look for ways to enhance. But.....agree pet insurance is not key to our changes ;) 3. Communication. Communication among the 500 employees, 6 locations and 4 countries is not always easy. It is not an excuse, and we, like many companies, can always do better here. Again, open to your suggestions. 4. Culture. I would disagree that we don't have a great culture. Is it perfect, no, but compared to many companies that I have been at, and ones I visit, we do many things right here. Certainly, the education industry (and our company) is going through a lot of transition which causes noise. But, I see many great things here to continue to expand on. I do appreciate the honesty, and these comments keep me driving to improve. I hope to connect soon. steve.fireng@plattform.com

Pros

- People are awesome - Management is working through a new company model that will greatly improve processes at PlattForm - Culture is a BIG deal at PlattForm and it is easy to see while walking through the halls. - Depending on department, managers are really flexible and understand that life happens

Cons

- Cliques, but that kind of happens at larger companies - Working from home requires using a day of PTO - Not a lot of PTO to begin with

Appreciate your comments. I agree that a key reason for our long term success has been our people and culture. Plattform has a great environment for employees to succeed and grow in their career. The culture is great because of employees like yourself that care about our future success. I am glad you recognized our managers. They all have the difficult task of running the operations day to day, while focusing on long term strategies to future proof our company. PlattForm has been around for 25 years and we need to keep that legacy for another 25 years. We are continuing to evaluate our benefits, including PTO and work from home. Feedback like yours helps with this evaluation. Thanks again, wish you all the best and good luck with your career at PlattForm. Steve
