Pros

They really do believe in their culture and truly strive for excellence. Their values and mission are great cornerstones and I truly believe they want the best for the company and employees.

Cons

The problem is: they don't actually follow-through on creating either a great culture or excellence for employees. Below are a couple criticisms I hope this company will consider and hopefully improve in the future: 1. Group Think: Another reviewer already said this, they do not want individuals - you either fall into line with their way of thinking or stay out of the way. Don't get me wrong, every company must have structure in place for things to run smoothly, what I am referring to is their harping on company culture to the point where it is almost a way of life. I mean they REALLY believe in culture there, sometimes it was hard not to get creeped out in the way they try to sway you into thinking the same way like referring to the company as a "family". I'm sure to a few people, that the sentiment of being in a "work family" is true (especially since a lot of people literally are from the same family there). But, as endearing as it sounds to be in one big, happy work-place family - the company is too large for it to really feel this way, there are too many people with too many differing goals and agendas to act like a family would act. As for me, I would rather be treated as a professional with respect than as a child in a "work family" (see #2). 2. Disrespect: They treat their employees like children and students. Their "coaching" and other all-to-reminiscent-of-grade-school tactics to get you to grow as an employee leave you feeling like a high schooler again scheming up ways to ask the teacher for a hall pass to get out of class. Cliques, mandatory classes, miniscule lunch breaks, and running for class president (they run for different groups just like a school campaign) - they have all those awkward and uncomfortable high-school mementos for you to relive right there within the Plattform building walls. 3. Professionalism: I have worked for several advertising agencies in both marketing and design. Plattform is NOT the norm. There are some major flaws when it comes to professionalism. I would even refer to their current 2013 culture handbook on their site. There is a page where the picture is cropped in a way that makes a man appear naked. Gross...and unprofessional. I read reviews like mine before I accepted the job at this company and thought it was just a bunch of disgruntled, rejected employees. I was wrong. They need to make some major changes starting with the culture they claim to have. I think their mission and values are in the right place, they just have been executing them both poorly.

Pros

Tuition reimbursement regardless of what your major is

Cons

Oh my god where do i start.....they tell their potential employees that its a inbound customer service job but its not until training you find out its telemarketing! You get in trouble for EVERYTHING you say to the "prospects", you can use the bathroom in between breaks and lunch, they expect you to come straight out of training, which is only a week, knowing everything and if you dont your getting yelled at like a little child. They put you on the floor after a week and then they yell at you for nor knowing what your doing. I worked there 3 weeks and was fired because i wasnt "selling" the 20,000 schools that they try to get people to enroll in and oh yea the inbound calls are from people calling back because they think its a job calling them and we had to talk to them like it was a job then quickly turn the conversation to getting enrolled in these ripoff schools once the prospects find out what we were really calling for they cussed us out and dema that we DO NOT CALL ANYMORE. DO NOT WORK HERE

Pros

Onsite Gym & Locker Rooms/Shower Facilities Tuesday Candy / Snack Cart Friday Half Days during the Summer (every other Friday)

Cons

Having worked in the marketing/advertising industry for many years, I was up for the "fast-paced work environment". From the moment I started, I could sense tension within the department. You have to be on Red Bull intravenously to work here. Within the first 2-3 weeks, I saw 2 people break down and cry within my department. In addition, I saw numerous emails from management announcing people resigning every day. Many young people have no clue that the crazy pace at this place isn't normal. The workload is utterly unfathomable. Hundreds of emails a day, clients and upper management emailing all hours of the night (do these people sleep)? It is great that they offer so many "perks" but too bad no one has time to enjoy them given the ridiculous workload and pace. Their idea of being strategic is pushing clients to do things that aren't in the client's best interest to meet revenue goals. The great culture and work-life balance they promote in interviewing is nothing but a means to get you in the door. I've never experienced workload, stress, cliques, email overload, and turnover anywhere like this place in all my years in the business. The people who left positive reviews of this place are interal PR spokespeople who are trying to save their image because of high turnover and employee dissatisfaction.
