Pros

Great benefits, career advancement, great pay Some departments have a family like atmosphere Many different paths one can take

Cons

Lots of hours for some positions, career path more so chosen by them not you Positions are being cut left and right, so you never know if you go to work that day if you could be next I have worked in two different positions with two different results - one was pretty great, the other one there was no respect from management and I got treated like garbage even though I consistently outperformed my peers

Pros

Pay, final salary pension scheme, company has a good reputation.

Cons

Poor bonus structure. Reigate not a great location, difficult to commute to, to expensive to live locally.Overly competitive employee environment, filled with clock watchers and point scorers. Most would rather work for P&G and the majority have tried and failed to gain a role with them. the employee contract comes with a 3 month notice period - which they made me work! Work / life balance is poor and not helped by the location, competitive environment.

Pros

There is a very good benefits package. The community is safe and has a low cost of living.

Cons

The corporate culture has deteriorated substantially over the last few years. Honesty and support from management are hard to find. The new performance management system and related policies have been specifically designed to minimize compensation increases and cut costs, and ratings have no relationship to actual performance. There is no concern for work-life balance. Management demands completely loyalty and devotion -- willingness to do whatever they ask at any time -- while not giving any loyalty or respect to workers in return. Basically, the work force is view as just another input widget like pulp or shipping costs.
