Pros

Employees are all remote & the company does send nice gift boxes occasionally to celebrate milestones. Gift boxes contain small desserts &/or company T-Shirts.

Cons

The leadership is astonishingly incompetent. I didn't meet anyone in leadership that had any prior insurance experience. There were no year end meetings to discuss performance &/or opportunities... no one knew if there would be any year end raise until a few days beforehand. There were compliance issues that inexperienced managers had no idea how to handle. There was very little advancement opportunities, only because the managers had no management experience, resulting in high turnover. The benefits were not ideal & the pay was low.

Pros

Remote work and flexible PTO

Cons

It started off good but went downhill fast over the last couple years. I've done many roles before coming to CS but now CS is nothing but a churn and burn factory now and its sad. The praise for CS is nothing more than smoke and mirrors. You never know where your manager is and most people now have no clue what they are doing and put their work off on others and get praised for it . Other departments treat us like low level grunts especially the sales and ops department. The constant disrespect from sales agents is almost unbearable when all you are trying to do is do your job. There is never any consequences for their unethical behavior and actions on how they speak to us it doesn't make it any better that their managers support their abusive conduct. Its always the "Top Performers" that cause the most issues. Growth and opportunity is limited. There is not many paths you can actually take. The pay does not actually equal the work you put in. The work environment is extremely toxic now. There are no real checks and balances when it comes to management. Its all about who they like. My advice now is to just do your work and clock out. Nothing else.

Pros

Decent pay and paid time off

Cons

The environment among agents is mostly hostile. People are catty and will get mad if you try and transfer a call to them, they will fight over leads and just generally be rude. If someone is higher up, they feel they need to be catered to or respected just because. 85% of the managers are horrible people who are on a power trip, and don’t dare ask any questions, because every time you do you’ll be made to feel small by management or told you should already know that. Never mind if the customer needs to know right then, it’s more important to managers to be snarky than answer your question. They allow private group channels in Slack where managers have the freedom to treat you like crap and reply back to your questions in a smart tone nonstop, all day everyday. And you’re just trying to learn and work and service the customers. It’s impossible to enjoy working in an environment like that. In my eyes, managers are stressed to the max, as everyone is, bc all Kin cares about are sales sales sales. If you don’t meet it, you’re gone. On top of that, I asked off 3 days over a span of 4 months when my baby was sick, and I was lashed out against by my manager who said “this is a problem.” Even though I had PTO. Apparently it’s there for looks, bc those times that I took it, management told me straight up, like you don’t need to take off EVER if you can help it. If you’re a workaholic who loves high stress environment and enormous pressure from management (read: daily pings and DMs asking why you haven’t made a sell so far yet today, almost EVERYDAY—which btw makes it worse, and harder to sell), then you’d love this job. I have exceeded my sales goals, so I’ve done well, and yet, this is the truth of the environment here. I have several other coworkers who have had legit panic attacks from the stress and are looking elsewhere and are even willing to take a pay cut to get out of this place. I would not recommend it to a friend, or anyone I care about.
