      Once a project is done, you are kicked out. Permanent employee or not.

      Thanks for taking the time to write a review on Glassdoor. We are sorry you feel this way. We believe in providing full time employment opportunities to people when and where we can. We have never and would never hire anyone full time intending to end the employment when a project ends. Our average length of tenure is 7.4 years which is quite high for the high tech industry, and we have incredibly low percentage of contractors (less than 1%).       Not the same as it used to be

      Pros

      The people are great to work with, but I find that to be an industry standard in Ottawa high-tech. Lots to learn (Supply Chain Management, tools). Good compensation.

      Cons

      The CEO recently left and the heart-and-soul of the company went with him. The new focus is on shareholder profit above all else (employees are encouraged to read "Amp it Up"). North American layoffs and hiring restrictions are leading to a lot of people being stressed and overworked. The corporate strategy is to outsource work to India and AI, but both are problematic in actual execution.

      Medium Sized Firm with usual benefits

      Pros

      - Work Life Balance -Good Office Infrastructure at HQ in Ottawa -Good Subsidized lunch available @ HQ -No Meetings Monday -Unlimited Holidays - needs approval though if its more than 4 weeks -Every month last Friday off

      Cons

      - Too many Re-Orgs -Average Pay compared to market and yearly hikes are very less including RSUs -No employee retention -Global work policy is rigid - requires too many approvals - doesn't suite a software company - HR just pushes you for LOP -If you are in Ottawa you are forced to go to Office - 3/4 days a week - they even took employee attendance for a while - LOL :P - Higher management do no care about the individual contributors - they keep changing the orgs and managers - No external trainings are provided -HR business partners - never meets teams - there is no communication loop -Employee feedbacks are not heard -Growth is very slow in the organization -Silent firing of employees
