The environment is majority female grad students. It is a very positive environment.

Cons

There are not enough hours of to go around. It is a lengthy process for the company to get patient’s insurance to approve them. Company is in high demand.

Pros

Working closely with the families and their children. Many families are very understanding and accommodating if things pop up in your life. Getting trained in ABA and being reimbursed for the training is also a plus.

Cons

The overall vibe of the clinic is very unprofessional. They tend to rotate through 5 different people who have different admin duties and names are changing all the time. BCBAs are knowledgeable but some can be very uncomfortable. I felt like people in the clinic played favorites a lot and felt uncomfortable and isolated when I did work there one on one. I only stayed for as long as I did out of guilt of leaving the families I worked for. It's great if you have someone to support you at home while you work part time and are working for your masters for the experience...not if you're supporting yourself.
