Pros

King County is both a very diverse and progressive organization. Good people doing a great job with limited resources. The employees work hard and long shifts that include hundreds of split shifts over a 13 hour day. That is dedication! Not just a paycheck but a commitment to serve the public 24/7.

Cons

The progressive discipline system used by King County Transit is outdated and makes it nearly impossible to terminate bad employees and making it harder for everyone. Driver and passenger safety concerns from assaults should be improved. It is a dangerous job to drive a bus and to ride the busas well.

Pros

Benefits are outstanding and are paid for at 100% for yourself and your family. Free ORCA pass. Telework is optional.

Cons

Backstabbing. To save money, required to use your own cell phone and do not get reimbursed for its use plus have to deal with the whole privacy issues of personal data and public trust data.

Pros

This is a place where you can have a lifetime career.

Cons

Things move slow, and with a limited budget. Because people make careers here, some times complacency is an issue.
