Pros

Easy for me. Very lavish benefits, set hours, even flex time (4-day weeks, etc.). Location within an easy commuting distance (for me).

Cons

The work is non-essential. A waste of taxpayers' money. You sit in your cubicle and waste the day away.

Pros

In dedicated funded departments, job security is about as good as it gets for working class folks.

Cons

Far too managers and supervisors who don't manage or supervise. They are there to win popularity contests. Leadership skills are totally lacking in many divisions. Lack of accountability, tolerance of poor performers, and a "business needs are secondary" attitude, destroy morale. High performers are discouraged from excelling - by management and peers alike.

Pros

Very understanding of needing time off for school. Supervisors also allow you to go to the court room and gain first hand experience in a trial. Overall a very enjoyable environment to work for.

Cons

Work given to interns is very tedious and at times can be very boring. You dont really stretch your thinking in the work they give you, but if you are in the criminal division, the cases you are filing for can be very interesting.
