Pros

Good and necessary purposeful work and causes, steady and reliable work

Cons

Management is offended by anyone who disagrees. They shutdown debate, flow of ideas and creative discussion. Overpaid contract workers hired as scapegoats for poor management and team-work environment. Self-interested and Isolated management create boring, wasteful and dour work environments.

Pros

Manageable work and personal life tradeoff. You can't be compelled to work long hours and weekends. Hourly pay plus overtime pay. Plenty of time off. Excellent benefits. King County is an easy place to work.

Cons

Boring work. No chance for big money. You don't get any more for being successful Slow advancement King County is not very satisfying because you don't do anything constructive. It is only regulatory - almost a policing function

Pros

Great benefits. It's government, so yearly COLA and regular step increases.

Cons

Lab management staff are disrespectful and incompetent. They are out of touch with staff duties and unrealistic in their expectations. Terrible, terrible morale. They don't do enough to reward good employees or encourage those that are slacking to pull their weight.
